Repetitive Strain Injuries Upper Extremities

Millions of people around the country suffer from repetitive strain injuries. All too often doctors and the public turn towards pain pills and surgery before they ever consider massage therapy as an option for rehabilitation. Truth is, many repetitive strain injuries can be resolved with advanced massage techniques and almost all can be prevented with a better understanding of the underlying physiological mechanisms.

This class is designed to teach 12 of the most common repetitive strain injuries that affect the upper extremities, including the varying causes, symptoms, treatments & preventative measures. Effective treatments incorporate myofascial release, trigger point, deep tissue, PNF and advanced massage techniques. 

Conditions discussed include: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, Rotator Cuff Injuries, Frozen Shoulder, Radial and Cubital Tunnel Syndrome, Medial and Lateral Epicondylitis, Trigger Finger, DeQuervain’s Tenosynovitis and more.

The goal of the RSI: Upper Extremities class is to give massage therapists the confidence to address these conditions as they arise and to prevent them from getting worse.
